Corporate killers will not face jail [UK]

The government has announced its plans for new laws on corporate manslaughter, provoking anger in Scotland where tougher legislation had been urged. New laws which will make it easier for companies to be prosecuted for fatal accidents caused by negligent behaviour were published by ministers in London on Friday...proposals to jail negligent company directors have since been dropped and replaced with a penalty of unlimited fines. Scottish trade unions have criticised the government for not imposing tough enough measures in the new Bill.
