Corporate warned against exploiting security companies [Swaziland]

[Swaziland’s] Minister of Labour and Social Security Lutfo Dlamini…has noted with concern the continued disrespect for the country’s labour laws and exploitation of employees by some employers in the security…industry… Dlamini said…that major violations of the law…includ[e]… underpayments, irregular payment of wages, protective clothing, appliances and equipment not given free of charge, pay slips not issued…victimisation including dismissals for challenging violation of workers’ rights and safety and health…issues…Dlamini pointed out that the companies using the services provided by the security companies that violate labour laws were indirectly promoting the abuse and exploitation of employees. "In such cases there are obvious undue economic benefits for both parties at the expense of fairness and social justice…Security employers are urged to comply with the law as criminal proceedings will be initiated for continued violation”
