A dairy company linked to the Tetra Pak [part of Tetra Laval] packaging empire has admitted it may have breached Zimbabwe sanctions by selling hundreds of thousands of pounds of equipment to Robert Mugabe's wife's farm… DeLaval, a leading equipment firm based in Sweden…owned by the Rausing dynasty…The Mugabes are subject to targeted sanctions by the European Union … DeLaval’s spokesman [said]… “At the time of this transaction, we had no knowledge or reason to believe that the beneficial owner of the farm was Mrs Mugabe…Unfortunately our internal control systems have failed and we will initiate a project to review and strengthen them.”…Spokesman for Tetra Laval [said]: “Tetra Laval was not previously aware of this transaction…this transaction should never have been approved.”
