Disney, Darden and other big businesses throw weight behind bill to end LGBT discrimination [USA]

Some of Florida's biggest and most influential businesses...including Walt Disney World and Darden Restaurants...threw their weight behind long-stalled legislation to prohibit discrimination against gay, bisexual and transgender Floridians. The businesses, nearly a dozen...that have united under an umbrella group called the Florida Business Coalition for a Competitive Workplace, said such a law would help Florida companies better compete for workplace talent against employers in other states and countries that have enacted similar anti-discrimination policies...Florida law already protects against discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion or disability, among other criteria [and] a number of cities and counties...have adopted LGBT protections...Although the public show of support from businesses is significant, it remains to be seen whether any of them will pressure lawmakers to pass the legislation...[Also refers to CSX, Florida Blue, LongHorn Steakhouse (part of Darden Restaurants), Olive Garden (part of Darden Restaurants), Red Lobster (part of Darden Restaurants), Wells Fargo]
