[DOC] The Norms at a watershed

The lasting value of the Norms [UN Norms on business & human rights] exercise...is that it has brought the human rights responsibilities of business to the top of the agenda from which they cannot be removed. It will now depend on the statesmanship of all concerned, and in particular of the business community, to ensure a positive outcome. But the main loser will be the corporate world which will be seen to justify the prevailing belief that it puts profit before principle.
