[DOC] UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights encourages UNGPs implementation in Central America

On November 5th and 6th, Alexandra Guáqueta, Vice-Chair from the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights, participated in meetings in San José de Costa Rica to inform States and business of their responsibilities to implement the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The November 5th conference convened by the Ministry of Labour of Costa Rica, the Umbrella Organization of the Private Sector in Costa Rica, UCCAEP and the non for profit organization Cegesti, with the support of the Netherlands, gathered more than 100 business representatives, academics, civil society organizations, representatives of governments and of international organizations, including the ILO, from and based in Central America. Puvan Selvanathan, another member of the Working Group, talked about the integration of the UN Guiding Principles in sustainable agriculture initiatives. On November 6th, Dr Guáqueta met Embassies and representatives of international and regional organizations, including the OAS, to talk about the UN Guiding Principles and ways they could support their implementation.
