Guatemala: San Rafael mine violence - Sep 2012

Between September 17 and 18, protests by workers for San Rafael Mining Company [part of Tahoe Resources] escalated into a violent confrontation with the company’s private security and the police.  Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Tahoe Resource to respond to a joint NGO statement (in Spanish & English below) alleging that Tahoe Resources' private security used violence to repress the protesters.
