Does the World need a binding treaty on business and human rights?

Ecuador and a number of other governments have proposed the development at the UN of a new international treaty addressing human rights abuses involving business. The initiative has the support of over 400 civil society organizations. The UN Human Rights Council will consider the proposal at its June 2014 session.
