Responding to a shareholder request, pharmacy chain Eckerd [part of J.C. Penney] announced it would stop selling mercury fever thermometers early this year...The largest remaining retailer to sell mercury thermometers is Kroger...Other large retailers that continue to sell mercury thermometers include Cardinal Health's Medicine Shoppe franchise, Publix and Fred's Pharmacies.
