FLA issues summary report of an independent assessment of Ocean Sky Apparel. The...investigation was conducted in response to a report by the Institute for Global Labour & Human Rights (IGLHR). In particular, IGLHR alleged a range of violations of workers' rights at the factory, including harassment or abuse, forced overtime, improper recording of working time, contaminated drinking water, and very low wages. Following the investigation, FLA and sourcing brands worked with Ocean Sky Apparel on a remediation plan. El 10 de marzo del 2011, la FLA emitió un reporte preliminar con respecto a las acusaciones de violaciones a los derechos laborales en la fábrica Ocean Sky Apparel en El Salvador...Particularmente, el reporte hace referencia a dos investigaciones independientes comisionadas por FLA, la primera sobre los alegatos de violación de derechos laborales y la segunda sobre preocupaciones de la potabilidad del agua....Basado en los resultados de estas investigaciones, Ocean Sky Internacional Ltd, en colaboración con la FLA y las marcas contratantes...desarrollaron un plan de remediación que aborda todos los incumplimientos y los riesgos de incumplimiento encontrados en ambos reportes...FLA y las marcas contratantes se mantienen comprometidas a ayudar a Ocean Sky International Ltd con el proceso de remediación y coordinarán recursos para la supervisión de la implementación de la remediación durante los próximos meses.
