Emperor boss defends conditions [Fiji]

Management of the country's only gold mine says it runs one of the safest operations in the world in regard to international standards and accident rates...[Emperor Gold Mining (part of Emperor Mines)] General Manager, Sean O'Connor made the statements in response to allegations levelled against them by Fiji Labour Party parliamentarian, Damodran Nair. He raised his concerns over occupational health and safety standards at the mine and compensation claims of injured miners or families of those who lost their lives underground.
