EU: Agency for Fundamental Rights report calls for workplace inspections to be strengthened to better protect migrant workers from exploitation

In their latest report, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights looks at labour exploitation of migrant workers in the EU. It sees workplace inspections as one way to to combat abuse and empower workers to report abuse, however finds that at present these are often lacking or ineffective. The report provides evidence on how employers are currently able to manipulate and undermine inspections, and includes recommendations on what can be done to counteract such efforts.
