Business Supporting Refugees: #BuildBackBetter – COVID-19 & Refugee Inclusion

UN Global Compact Network UK & UNHCR

Date: 10 September 2020, 14:00-15:00 BST

The #BuildBackBetter pledge, adopted in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, calls on all actors involved in the economic recovery from COVID-19 to promote sustainable and resilient recovery policies and measures. In the UK, a key recommendation of a recent letter coordinated by the UN Global Compact Network UK and UK Stakeholders for Sustainable Development (UKSSD) and addressed to the Prime Minister is to “prioritise the most vulnerable in our society and level-up regional and societal inequalities”.

The UN Global Compact Network UK and UNHCR are proud to present Business Supporting Refugees, a webinar series aiming to present the business case for refugee inclusion during and after COVID-19, encourage and inspire businesses to be refugee-inclusive, and explore how refugee inclusion can drive progress towards the SDGs and the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact.

Join the first webinar in this series, #BuildBackBetter – COVID19 and refugee inclusion, to:

  • Understand the impacts and consequences of COVID-19 on refugees
  • Learn about the business case for refugee inclusion in COVID-19 recovery plans and #BuildBackBetter campaigns
  • Explore how your business can become refugee-inclusive during and after COVID-19
  • Become an advocate for refugee-inclusive employment, training, supply chains, and refugee entrepreneurs
