The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is at a critical point in its development. Our digital platform is home to a wealth of information on business and human rights, but hasn’t had a visual refresh for a number of years.

We will soon be updating the site to improve its usability and better serve the thousands of people that use our site to support their work.

Finance Adviser at ActionAid UK

From 2015 ActionAid UK, in partnership with 23 other project partners in 19 countries, will be funded by the EC to deliver a large campaigning project to raise international awareness and support for combatting tax avoidance and evasion and promote progressive and equitable tax reform.  The 2 year project will kick off in 2015.

ActionAid UK is recruiting a Finance Adviser that will oversee the project.

Salary: £33,664 - £34,682 per annum

Contract: Full time, 27 month fixed-term contract

We are now seeking a finance professional to ensure the financial integrity of a new European Commission funded project. This exciting project is being delivered by 24 partner organisations in 19 countries and will raise international awareness and support for combatting tax avoidance and evasion amongst European citizens and activists in the global South, and promote progressive and equitable tax reform in developing countries. Now you can help make it happen.

As Finance Adviser you will take responsibility for the financial management of this key project and help ensure the project is delivered in a timely and high quality way. You will act as a technical support to partners helping to make sure they understand financial requirements and have systems in place to meet them. You will be involved in simplifying complex financial information for project partners to support effective monitoring and reporting as well as overseeing the project’s adherence to the EC’s financial requirements. In addition, you will work collaboratively with partners across Europe and the global South to make sure audit trails are maintained, financial tasks are delivered and project information is regularly updated and communicated to stakeholders.

You must have extensive experience of computerised accounting systems and developing financial operational systems and schedules for large, multi-country, multi-partner projects. Used to preparing plans and budgets as well as management and financial reporting you will be accomplished at analysing financial reports and plans too and resolving problems. You will have also led on financial aspects of donor contract management and provided advice on complex financial management.
