Fred Meyer Settles Sexual Harassment Lawsuit [USA]

The Fred Meyer [part of Kroger] grocery chain will pay nearly $490,000 to some of its Oregon workers…This is the retailer’s second settlement with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in just over five years…[T]he EEOC found that a customer sexually harassed employees for several years...The EEOC said numerous complaints by the employees to store management were dismissed as “hearsay”…Bill Tamayo an attorney with the EEOC said, “…they’re a major company that simply did not learn its lesson from the first case."…Fred Meyer is a nationwide grocery chain with over 30,000 employees and 131 stores...
