German outdoor clothing company Vaude has been awarded 'Leader' status in recognition of its efforts to establish fair working conditions in its supply chain.

Among its initiatives, the company is praised for making major advances in the monitoring of actions to improve social standards, the professional handling of workers' complaints, and training measures in production plants to increase management awareness and competence in these areas.

In addition, Vaude was able to prove that 100% of its producers in high-risk countries have been audited. The company is also working with its production plants towards continuos improvement.
