Germany: Primark signs collective agreement with ver.di labour union to improve working conditions, wages & benefits

"Ver.di and Primark Germany agree collective agreement for 7000 employees"

Ver.di and the fashion chain Primark have agreed that the regional collective agreements of the retail sector will in the future apply to all the approximately 7000 Primark employees in Germany. The agreement will be introduced in a staggered process until 2018 to allow for step-by-step adjustments. The workers will benefit from significant wage increases and bonus payments, better and binding regulated working conditions as well as the recognition of their service years at Primark, which for many employees amounts to a signficant pay increase…Head of UNI Commerce Alke Boessiger said, "This is a great victory for both ver.di and German Primark workers. Together they have created positive change that will improve the lives of 7000 workers and their families. The UNI family offers its sincere congratulations."…
