Ghana: PEF Adopts Treatment Acceleration Project On HIV/Aids

The Private Enterprise Foundation (PEF), an umbrella organization for the private sector...has adopted...the Treatment Acceleration Project (TAP) whereby a consortium of private companies...and other implementing partners collaborate to scale-up HIV/AIDS care and treatment in Ghana...[Project Coordinator, Yaw Frimpong Addo] said the Business Coalition Against HIV/AIDS among others, was going to lead the way to mobilize adequate resources for the private sector to tackle HIV/AIDS at work places...He disclosed that though 90% of business organizations in Ghana believed that HIV/AIDS has negative impact on business, only 14% were ready to increase budgetary support for HIV/AIDS activities.
