Guatemala: New report exposes abuses & intimidation against those opposing Tahoe Resources' Escobal mine linked to private security companies

The report, Under Siege: Peaceful Resistance to Tahoe Resources and Militarization in Guatemala, was written by Luis Solano and commissioned by the International Platform Against Impunity in Central America and MiningWatch Canada. The document contains allegations of human rights abuses related to the mining activities of Tahoe Resources in El Escobal, Guatemala.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Tahoe Resources to respond to these allegations; the response is available here.
