Head of Corporate Engagement at UNICEF UK
Right now, children are in danger. They face violence, disease, hunger, and the chaos of war and disaster. This is wrong and it has to change. Unicef already ensures more of the world’s children are fed, vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws, policies and customs to help protect children than anyone else in history. Unicef UK raises money and campaigns to change children’s lives – doing whatever it takes until every child is safe.
Unicef UK’s Corporate Partnerships team aims to increase support from the commercial sector, and has been extremely successful with significant long-term partnerships with companies including Manchester United, M&S, Barclays and FTSE among others. As we grow and become more diverse in the way in which we engage with the corporate sector, we are now working towards a more integrated approach to engaging with businesses. We are recruiting a Head of Corporate Engagement to co-lead our cross-departmental Corporate Social Responsibility Unit, helping to develop Unicef UK’s reputation as a leader in the field of children’s rights and business.
You will help position Unicef UK as the partner of choice for businesses seeking to enter into strategic partnerships with NGOs, actively seeking new opportunities to drive income where possible through the development of CSR focused relationships. Providing technical advice on our approach to advancing children's rights in business, you will proactively engage with UK businesses to ensure children’s rights are being championed through their business activity.
With a proven track record of working with businesses on corporate sustainability issues, you will have a strong interest in and detailed knowledge of international development and child rights and be keen to harness the power of the private sector in both of these areas. As this role involves line management, you will have previously managed and motivated an individual and be able to play an active role in the Senior Corporate Leadership Team, contributing to the development of the wider team’s plans.
