Intergovernmental Working Group on TNCs & Human Rights: Day 2

The first session of the Intergovernmental working group...just started its second day of debates. Two different panels are announced in today’s agenda. The one in the morning will be dealing with the concepts and legal nature of TNCs and other Business Enterprises in international law and the one in the afternoon will elaborate on which human rights need to be covered under the Instrument with respect to the activities of TNCs and other businesses...In today’s session interventions of experts, states and non-governmental organisations are expected...The next few days will show to what extend agreements between different member states can be found, which in terms will help to understand whether the adoption of an international legally binding instrument is feasible or not.
