We are looking for a human rights professional to join our efforts to improve legal, policy and remedial frameworks to ensure increased respect for human rights in the context of the green transition. You will be based in Copenhagen at the Human Rights, Business & Tech Department at the Danish Institute for Human Rights. The department works to foster responsible business conduct by working with states, businesses, and rightsholders affected by business operations, and other relevant actors. You will be part of an ambitious and dedicated department and join the global policy and partnerships and the energy transition teams within the department as one of our advisers. You will contribute to developing the department’s approach and strategies.

The adviser will develop analyses in the field of responsible business with a focus on legal and policy developments relevant to the “just transition”; support strategic engagement by the institute with inter-governmental organisations, financial institutions, industry networks and multi-stakeholder initiatives to advance human rights in the context of the energy transition with a particular focus on transition minerals and deployment of renewable energy projects; lead on engagements with business networks and initiatives including through the development of training materials and facilitation of workshops and dialogues on human rights (and environmental) due diligence especially as it relates to a just transition; support partners in various countries in Africa and/or Latin America to assess human rights impacts of energy transition projects, engage in dialogue and policy advocacy, and seek remedy; manage projects (including financial administration) and seek and develop new opportunities.
