Campaigns Officer at ShareAction

ShareAction is a ground breaking charity which since its inception in 2005 has been successfully campaigning to change business practices that are negligent or harmful to people and the environment, by harnessing the shareholder power of major investors.

We are looking for a campaigns officer to join our growing team.

Key Tasks

You will be assisting the Director of Campaigns and Engagement on a range of ShareAction campaigns with a particular focus on our climate change project until 2015. This will include the following tasks:

  • Keeping track of the key issues and arguments for each campaign
  • Administration relevant to the campaigns
  • Event organisation
  • Ensuring team members are up-to-date with campaign information and meeting individual deadlines
  • In-depth research on environmental, social and governance issues
  • Writing clear and coherent reports on such issues
  • Identifying stakeholders, liaising with them and tracking engagement on a range of campaigns
  • Working closely with all the members of a small, fast-paced team
  • Creating and maintaining records of dissemination lists for investor briefings and reports
  • Helping produce copy for a range of audiences and websites about our campaigns

 Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in a field relevant to the job description (not necessarily an NGO)
  • Excellent and demonstrable organisational skills
  • Ability to meet continuous short-term deadlines whilst keeping long-term goals on track
  • Ability to ensure other team members meet deadlines
  • Experience of organising events
  • MS Office competent
  • Ability to work closely with all members of a small, fast-paced team
  • Ability to hit the ground running
  • Ability to get to grips with a new and complex subject area quickly
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of climate change and/or the investment industry
  • Project management experience

 

Contract: Full time, permanent
