Chief Operating Officer at Shift
An essential leadership role on our small, dynamic team, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for developing and implementing the organizational systems, policies and processes that allow Shift to deliver on its mission and realize opportunities for growth.
The COO is accountable for the sound management of Shift’s finances and acts as the Treasurer of the organization. They lead the human resources function and partner with the President and Business Engagement Director to foster an organizational culture that reflects Shift’s values. The COO manages the negotiation of contracts and other routine legal documents with funders and partners, working with external counsel as necessary on legal questions. The COO also oversees the communications and IT functions of the organization and provides support to the President in managing the board of directors’ operations. The COO coordinates Shift’s strategic planning process and tracks its implementation, in close coordination with senior leaders.
We will rely on you to be people-focused, analytical, and results-oriented. You will manage distinct work streams, apply sound professional judgment, and adapt to new issues and priorities.
