Updating the Resource Centre Digital Platform

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is at a critical point in its development. Our digital platform is home to a wealth of information on business and human rights, but hasn’t had a visual refresh for a number of years.

We will soon be updating the site to improve its usability and better serve the thousands of people that use our site to support their work.

Please take an advance peek at our new look, and let us know what you think!

Thank you,
Alex Guy, Digital Officer

Project Manager at International Alert

International Alert (Alert) is at present developing its long-term peacebuilding programme in Ukraine. We are in the process of building a programme in Ukraine along with our co-applicants Saferworld and have an exciting opportunity for a talented, committed and experienced individual to make a significant contribution to a rapidly growing organisation.

We are looking for a talented individual to lead the implementation of a joint International Alert/Saferworld project in Ukraine. This project will entail the oversight of a peace and conflict analysis envisioned as an output to the project, leadership and managerial oversight of both Alert and Saferworld’s project activity as well as the setting up of an office in Ukraine, and ensuring the project partnership flourishes. Although the post is a short-term contract (dependent upon funding), the post holder will have an excellent opportunity to develop the next stages of the peacebuilding strategy in Ukraine and ensure the necessary systems are in place for high quality output and compliance. The job also will require developing a reputation for quality strategic, peacebuilding work, maintaining good contact with key stakeholders and to responding to further calls for proposals.

This post requires someone with a talent for managing challenging projects whilst being entrepreneurial in developing new ideas and concepts. This reflects the developmental nature of the role in a region where there is scope for Alert to build on what is currently a start-up phase of activity. The start-up nature of the work means this post holder will be talented in setting up management systems and delivering results on a short term basis. They will also be able to quickly gain and maintain the trust and respect of both senior political figures and local organisations.

Contract: Fixed-term contract from August 2014 to March 2015, but is intended to be converted to a permanent post subject to funding

Closing date: Sunday 20 July 2014

Location: Kyiv, Ukraine

Salary: £42,963 per annum
