Research and Policy Intern - Corporate Justice Coalition
This is a part-time, paid position which suits a recent graduate/graduate student seeking to gain experience in NGO research and policy work, and who has an interest in business and human rights.
The Corporate Justice Coalition is currently conducting consultations with communities, civil society organisations and trade unions from the Global South. The intern will support this research for 10 weeks.
Hours
The role will be for 2.5 days a week and paid pro rata on the London Living Wage of £13.85/hour. Working hours are flexible and work environment is hybrid either in our office in Vauxhall or from home.
The internship will take place from July to September 2025, depending on availability, and last 10 weeks from start of work.
Tasks include:
- Support in the outreach to relevant stakeholders in relation to a new law and the organisation of online consultation meetings in multiple languages with interpreters;
- Create written data based on recorded focus group discussion and collate information into relevant themes;
- Analyse and evaluate findings and support the preparation of a high-quality report;
- Performing and assisting with administrative tasks;
- Any other reasonable tasks delegated to you by your line manager or other CJC staff.
Person specification:
- Knowledge and understanding of, and passion for corporate accountability. Knowledge of the UN Guiding Principles and other international and national frameworks are a bonus;
- Experience of cross-cultural working and awareness of conversations around decolonizing human rights.
- Research experience demonstrated by a relevant degree;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to work, unsupervised, under own initiative with a proactive approach to problem solving;
- Strong English language written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write fluently for a wide range of audiences;
- The applicant must have the right to work in the UK. Availability to work in the office one day/week is a bonus but not an exclusion ground.
