Keystone Pipeline Foes Vent in Nebraska [USA]

...[At] what may be the final public hearing on the project..., conducted by the State Department,...hours of emotional testimony [came] mostly from opponents of Keystone XL...For several years, they have repeatedly voiced concern that a spill from the pipeline could seep into the Ogallala Aquifer, a major water source...[In] 2012, President Obama rejected the route proposed by the pipeline’s operator, TransCanada, because of lingering environmental concerns.
