Kuwait: Society for Human Rights launches hotline for migrant workers to report labour abuse

"Kuwait Society for Human Rights calls on migrant workers to call on hotline “22215150”", 26 December 2017

Khalid Al-Ajmi, Chairman of the board of Kuwait Society for Human Rights, said that the Kuwait Society for Human Rights receives calls of migrant workers in Kuwait at the hotline “22215150” both in Arabic and English in order to respond to their complaints and inquiries about labor laws, ministerial decisions and legal procedures that aim to protect rights. Al-Ajmi pointed out that the hotline contributes to the identification of labor-related problems faced by migrant workers in Kuwait and also contributes to the reduction of these problems by providing periodic recommendations to the competent authorities and working together with the government to protect the rights of migrant workers...The Kuwait Society for Human Rights, in collaboration with the Embassy of Netherlands in Kuwait, launched the hotline service in July 2017. It is currently implementing the second phase, in collaboration with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), by following up on complaints, resolving them through legal means, monitoring them and issuing international reports...
