Labor: Moreno Valley warehouse charged with harassing union [USA]

The National Labor Relations Board...has issued a complaint against a Moreno Valley food distribution center concerning the company’s actions during a 2012 election...other allegations brought by...Teamsters remain under investigation...The dispute grew out of a campaign to organize at United Natural Foods’ distribution center last spring...The Teamsters lost the...election...But before the ballots had even been cast, union officials filed labor board charges alleging that employees were harassed and threatened by company officials...Lisa Madsen, spokesperson for Providence, R.I.-based United Natural Foods, said in an emailed statement that the labor board has not definitively ruled that the company committed any violations. “Claims that UNFI has engaged in unfair labor practices are entirely baseless and without merit,” Madsen said in the statement.
