Alessandra Korap Munduruku (or Alessandra Munduruku) is one of the main spokespersons for the defense of the Munduruku indigenous, one of the largest ethnic groups in Brazil and whose rights have been threatened by illegal mining and logging and large government projects. Alessandra was part of the Brazilian Indigenous delegation that went to the COP26, in Glasgow, where she denounced the Brazilian government and a range of private sector and organized criminal actors that threaten Munduruku lands and rights. As a result, she suffered online abuse and her house was and her house was broken into while she was still abroad. Several documents, the memory card of a security camera and cash were taken. The police believe that the invasion occurred on November 12. The fact that the invaders did not take valuables raised the strong suspicion of a political crime against the organization of the indigenous people who are against the mining and illgeal loggers. Alessandra has been a systematic victim of attacks. In January, she had already suffereddeath threats for opposing the activities of the mining company Vale.
