Bahrain: COVID-19 precautions must improve cramped accommodation & workers must receive awareness training

"Educate workers on Covid-19 call by MP," 18 Oct 2020

Reopening parts of the economy in the weeks to come should go hand-in-hand with continued Covid-19 education for expat workers alongside stringent policies to ensure labour camp facilities meet international standards, said [MP Mohammed Al Sissi]...

“Raising further awareness amongst poor labourers about the next phase of opening up the economy should be paramount...

Unfortunately some of the workers cannot read literature even in their own languages and will need a follow-up from community police and other officials...

“The country is reopening more and the concern is that many of these labourers will end up back in cramped accommodation.” [he said]
