China should discuss Myitsone issue only with president: Suu Kyi [Myanmar]

Myanmar's opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi told China to deal directly with the government if they wish to resume the controversial Myitsone project…"What I want to say is that the Myitsone issue should be put forward to President Thein Sein only. I don't know why the Chinese government officials have asked us." Suu Kyi said. President Thein Sein announced the suspension of the project, which was being built on the Ayeyawady River…in September 2011. He sent a message to Parliament in September 30, 2011, saying the Myitsone dam project would be suspended during his presidency on grounds of social and environmental impacts.
