The Coordination of Popular Organisations of Aguán (Coordinadora de Organizaciones Populares del Aguán (COPA) is an organisations that defends human rights in the South of Honduras. It's members have been threatened and attacked due to their activism defending their territory from the imposition of economic projects, including the mining company, Inversiones Los Pinares. On 26th January 2020 their offices were broken into despite the organisation having been given precautionary protection measures by the Interamerican Human Rights Commission. National and international organisations have expressed concern about the increased risks for defenders in the country, specifically those who defend the environment, their land and territory.
