Deutsche Bank's response to Fair Finance report

With reference to our internal guidelines and processes, we clearly reject allegations that Deutsche Bank knowingly finances projects with provable links to human rights violations.

For legal reasons, we cannot comment on actual or potential client relationships. However, we would like to emphasize that we adhere to our guidelines in our business activities; the protection of human rights is a central component of this. Without commenting on actual client relationships, we would like to point out that the data associated with us by Fair Finance and Profundo appears to relate to financing for companies in the construction and hotel sectors that operate globally, among others. It is therefore inaccurate to classify the cumulated sums in the report as 'financing provided by Deutsche Bank to the construction and hotel industry locally in Qatar'.

All our financings are subject to our applicable policies and guidelines. As part of the dialogue with our clients, we also address environmental and social issues, among others. We take into account media coverage, reports from civil society as well as individual comments from our clients.
