Ecuador: Community members oppose Hancock Prospecting’s Hanrine mine due to environmental concerns and lack of FPIC; Hancock did not respond

For several months, protesters blocked the entrance to the Hanrine mine, which operates in a context of conflict over the presence of informal miners; both types of mining threaten a protected ecosystem in Ecuador.
