ETECSA did not respond to allegations of blocking certain words from being sent on SMS

On 10 May 2022, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited ETECSA to respond to allegations contained in Access Now’s report “The return of digital authoritarianism: Internet shutdowns in 2021” that the company blocked the words “VPN” and “libertad” (“freedom”) from being sent on SMS. The company did not respond.
