Foxconn Technology Group response

...[W]e would like to state the following regarding our approach to worker health and safety at our operations in the Czech Republic: Foxconn takes our responsibility to our employees very seriously and we work hard to give our employees in the Czech Republic a safe and positive working environment and compensation and benefits that are competitive with all of our industry peers in that location...Our facility in the Czech Republic...is regularly audited by the Czech government, the employee labor union, and experts retained by each of our customers...Any suggestion that workers are punished should they sit during a stoppage in the assembly line is completely untrue. Seats are provided in the production area next to the manufacturing lines and all workers are encouraged to use those seats whenever there is any stoppage to the assembly line...Employees are paid for the full duration of their scheduled shift whether the assembly line is operating or not. Should any worker experience a work-related medical condition, they are given full access to professional medical care at no cost to them...[S]hould any employee have a grievance, there is a formal grievance communication process that is spelled out to all employees during their induction training...All grievances are investigated and, if required, they are addressed.
