France: Criminal complaint filed against four banks and one investment fund for alleged complicity in corrupt deal linked to murder of journalist in Malta

Sherpa and Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation have filed a criminal complaint against BNP Paribas, Société Générale, Natixis, CIC and Rivage Investment for alleged money laundering of corruption, complicity, and concealment of stolen goods for the benefit of Electrogas Malta Limited in the context of the operation of the Maltese gas market. A few months before the conclusion of these loans, Daphne Caruana Galizia, assassinated in October 2017, had revealed that the contract would be tainted by corruption.
