Russia: Leroy Merlin remains largest foreign consumer goods co. after allegedly simulating its exit; incl. co. non-response

Despite announcing the transfer of its assets to local management in March 2023, an investigation by L’Express showed that Leroy Merlin is still managed by a French director. Moreover, the company remains the largest foreign consumer goods company in Russia, having generated approximately $21 billion in revenue since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine and paying at least $375 million in profit taxes, including $128 million in 2024 alone.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Leroy Merlin to respond. The company did not reply.
