Response from the Danish Football Association (DBU) to questions on human rights risks and due diligence ahead of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

We are still not able to share the name of our Team Base Camp (hotel and training facility) and our planned due diligence process as we have not yet signed anything. But it is in process, and we are soon ready to announce our choices and actions related to human rights due diligence.

Since February 2022 we have made following actions:

  • Speech at conference on migrant workers in Qatar by the Danish trade union movement – 9 February
  • Presentation about our actions ahead of the World Cup in Qatar in the Danish parliament – 16 March
  • Participated in FIFA's congress and meetings with hotel, international trade union movement and others in Doha – 31 March
  • Information on human rights in. Qatar to Danish fans prior to the World Cup 2022 draw – 1 April (See https://www.fordanmark.dk/herrelandsholdet/generel-udebane-information/vm-i-qatar/)
