UK: Mercedes-Benz technicians vote to strike over pay rise; incl. co. comments

In January 2022, vehicle technicians employed at nine Mercedes-Benz sites voted in favour of a four-day strike. According to the workers, they had not been given a pay rise for three years, and had rejected a 1.5% pay offer.

Additionally, Unite the Union accused Mercedes-Benz bosses of adopting 'divide and rule' tactics, by offering wage increases to non-unionised workers, which they argued was an attack on union members who had voted for strike action.

However, also in January 2022, it was reported that the strike had been called off, after workers accepted a new pay package offer from the company.
