The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) seeks a Legislative and Policy Counsel to support cutting-edge legal and policy advocacy to bring an end to tobacco-related disease, the nation’s leading cause of preventable death. The Campaign is the leading policy advocacy organization devoted primarily to countering the lethal influence of the tobacco industry on public policy. Based in Washington, D.C. and reporting to the Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Affairs, the Legislative and Policy Counsel will provide legal and policy guidance in the analysis of federal, state and local legislation affecting tobacco control efforts and will help to develop and advocate for innovative legislative and regulatory proposals to address the use of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes. The Legislative and Policy Counsel will also support the Campaign’s litigation activities related to U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulation and defense of state and local tobacco control laws. Three-Five years of legal experience, including legislative drafting and policy analysis, is required.
