Meatpackers' union calls for criminal charges [Canada]

Union members at a strikebound slaughterhouse in southern Alberta [Lakeside Packers, part of Tyson Foods] called Saturday for attempted murder charges in a car crash that injured their leader...There were conflicting accounts of what caused the collision, with some workers alleging Mr. O'Halloran's sport utility vehicle was run off the road by plant managers, while others said he crashed it while trying to avoid being served with legal papers...Gary Mickelson, spokesman for the plant's Arkansas-based owners, Tyson Foods...wouldn't say whether company employees were involved.
