Mexico: Almaden Minerals responds to killing of Adán Vez, environmental defender and opponent of open pit mining

Adán Vez, well-known environmental defender from Veracruz, Mexico, was killed in April of this year.  Since then, different national and international organisations have called attention to the risk land, territory and environmental defenders live through in Mexico and across the region of Latin America.  Adán Vez was a vocal opponent of open pit mining.  We invited Almaden Minerals, Canadian mining company with opperations in neighbouring state, Puebla, to respond to his killing.  The response is available below.
