Mexico: Civil society demands transparency & action regarding factory that collapsed during earthquake

In the earthquake of the 19 of September, a building with 'maquilas' collapsed in Mexico City. Civil society has demanded transparency regarding how many workers were inside and for whom they worked.

Business and Human Rights Resource Centre contacted the following  companies to respond to allegations that they were present in the building & behaved in a ‘suspicious’ way following the earthquake:

  • Florina  (mentioned in the video below). Did not respond. 
  • Seo Young International (mentioned in the video below). Did not respond. 
  • ABC Toys (mentioned in the video below). Did not respond. 
  • Foley's - Response below (only in Spanish); they denied having operations in the building (mentioned in this article)

We will indicate here next week whether the above companies have responded or not.
