Middle River Aircraft must pay up for age discrimination [USA]

Middle River Aircraft Systems (MRAS) of Baltimore, part of GE [General Electric] Aviation, will pay $130,000 and provide relief to settle an age discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission...Middle River Aircraft...gave employee Louis Behrendt a lower performance rating, despite a successful job performance, because of his age, 61, commission said in a statement... Jennifer Villarreal, a spokeswoman for GE, said in an email, "MRAS supports the work of the EEOC and is glad it could reach a resolution of this case at a relatively early stage in the litigation. That clears the way for MRAS to focus on the future, and not on the past."
