…[T]his research identified a number of key issues relating to migrant children working in the shrimp and seafood processing industries…[Key findings include the following:] Children working in the shrimp and seafood industries were more frequently exposed to occupational hazards than children working in other industries…Children in the shrimp and seafood industries were twice as likely to incur injuries as children working in other industries…Due to the lower level of pressure exerted by international buyers in the shrimp industry, that industry has been slower to adopt and enforce international standards for processes and labor conditions…
