Miners hope ‘badge of excellence’ will help them break into Africa

The International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM)...is developing a “badge of excellence” to set standards in ethics, environmental protection and safety...It is hoped that the mark will help the industry to fend off criticism from environmental and safety campaigners, but its chief aim is to help Western mining companies to break into Africa.
