Agro-energy conglomerate Montedison has agreed to pay 525 billion lire ($245.5 million) to clean up environmental contamination at a chemical plant near Venice...The settlement was disclosed a day after 28 former executives of Montedison, and its two units Enimont and Enichem were acquitted of manslaughter charges in the cancer deaths of 157 workers at the Petrochimico factory in Marghera, in northern Italy.
