Nigeria: Dangote Foundation donates millions towards Ebola Centre

"Dangote Foundation donates N150 million for patients’ treatment", 14 Aug 2014…The Dangote Foundation…[has] donated N150 million ($ 930,000) to help fund the Ebola Emergency Operation Centre in Lagos State. The Chief Executive Officer…[of] Dangote Foundation, Adiembong Adaga, said the foundation’s decision was to complement government’s effort towards containing and eradicating the deadly virus in Nigeria. Commending the foundation’s donation, the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, enjoined well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the goodwill effort. He also advised…individuals placed under surveillance to obey medical directives... He said this was important because it could save the life of the patient and many others. Nigeria has recorded 10 cases of Ebola…four out of the 10 cases have died… while 169 others are under surveillance...
